Cesarean Section

Most animals give birth without any complications. Certain breeds are predisposed to needing c-sections and some mixed-breed dogs and cats occasionally need help with a difficult delivery. At times we attempt to resolve the problem using medical therapy first, if that doesn’t solve the issue, we will perform a cesarean section.

In some situations, we may recommend that the mother be spayed during this procedure, usually to prevent future problems of this nature. The doctors at Ocala Central Veterinary Care are knowledgeable and experienced in performing both planned and emergency C-sections.
